Two police officers who decided to play the kissing game while on duty and get their friend to take their photo have been dismissed for their indiscretion.

Two Tanzanian traffic police, Asumba Mwasumbi and Veronica Mdeme, whose kissing photos became viral after it found its way to the Internet have been relieved of their jobs. Joan Rivers: The Queen of Comedy, Remembered on Social Media

Veteran comedian Joan Rivers passed away on Thursday afternoon surrounded by friends and family. She was 81.
On Aug. 28, Rivers was rushed in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City after an emergency call that she was in cardiac arrest during throat surgery at a clinic. The E! television host was placed on life support, where her condition fluctuated. She died Thursday.

Rivers's death was announced by her daughter, Melissa, on Facebook. "It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother, Joan Rivers. She passed peacefully at 1:17pm surrounded by family and close friends. Pornographic Films Shot In Catholic Church Without Permission

Congregants at a Catholic church in Hörsching, Austria are up in arms after two Indecency films were allegedly shot in their house of worship in June, without the parish priest’s permission.

The films, which were made available for download online, prompted the Diocese of Linz to file an official complaint against its adult star(s) and crew members, who face up to six months in jail if they’re found guilty. 'Prometheus': Could There Be A Sequel? Co-writer Damon Lindelof tells MTV News if there were a follow-up, 'it wouldn't be 'Alien.' '

" In the wake of the mind explosion that was Ridley Scott's "Prometheus," both fans and haters have been curiously posturing about what it could all mean and whether a sequel is likely or even possible. Though after a solid opening weekend, the fate of a "Prometheus" sequel may now lie in the hands of a Fox executive instead of the creative talent, we spoke with co-writer Damon Lindelof about whether the events and ideas in "Prometheus" leave an opening for a follow-up. Much of the philosophy in "Prometheus" revolves around the unsatisfying nature of ultimate answers, and the film purposely avoids resolving some of the story's lingering questions. So could a sequel exist without contradicting the ideas of the original? Lindelof told us that "Prometheus" was always intended to be a stand-alone film, but there is the possibility for more story. "The conversations that we had about the story of 'Prometheus' and how it would end were always predicated on the idea that there would not be a sequel, that a sequel was not a foregone conclusion, and that the movie itself had to have a feeling of being complete," Lindelof said. "That being said, we also wanted the audience to feel that, like, if there were a sequel to 'Prometheus,' it wouldn't be 'Alien.' " That idea of a separate narrative arc from "Alien" led to the loose end of Shaw flying off to find the Engineers, so that if a sequel were to happen, it would take the audience to unfamiliar territory. "Something needed to happened at the end of this movie that clearly steered and announced that the direction of the trajectory of this story moving forward was not going to head toward LV-426 and a crashed, derelict ship with a Space Jockey with an exploded chest surrounded by eggs, that Shaw and David were headed in a different direction that was probably not going to result in that," Lindelof said. "Those two things were sort of simultaneous to each other, so you're both saying, 'We want this movie to stand on its own, but we also acknowledge that it needs to end in a way that is very clear that if the story were to progress (if there were a sequel) ' We tried to thread the needle between the two ideas." If the concept of no sequel to "Prometheus" upsets you because of the remaining mysteries, Lindelof suggests you look toward Scott for your answers, because he has them. "Then, of course, for all this talk of unanswered questions or the characters theorizing but not really getting their theories proved or, more importantly, for getting their makers to answer for the condition of the movie, Ridley and I and Jon [Spaihts] all discussed what we felt those answers were and came to agreement on them, so despite whatever slings and arrows come our way, this is not a case of, 'Well, we didn't know, so we didn't bother trying,'" Lindelof said. "We definitely knew, and Ridley decided that the more interesting movie was one where we didn't explicitly spell that stuff out." So because Scott designed the movie to be the way that it is, those questions should drive you want more, just like Shaw at the end of the film, but Lindelof promised that the answers you might be searching for could be hidden inside "Prometheus." "I really believe — and this is not shamed hucksterism — that upon multiple viewings of the movie or just entering into conversation with people who have seen it, there are a lot more answers there than people think there are and room for theories, but the movie needed to end in a way that is Shaw still searching," he said. "She is not satisfied with the answers that she got. I think that's very indicative, hopefully, if Shaw is supposed to be the audience proxy, they're supposed to be feeling the same way that she is at the end of the movie." For all the "Lost" fans out there, this might all sound like a familiar song and dance, especially coming from Lindelof, and the writer knew he was in for that comparison when he took on Scott's orders. "To be completely candid, I knew that I'd eat some s--- for that for the rest of my career, if there is no sequel to 'Prometheus,' but did it anyway, and had Ridley asked me to do it the other way, I would have done that too," Lindelof said. "This movie is about realizing his vision. He's only directed three science-fiction films, and now 'Prometheus' is one of them, and if he told me to jump off a bridge, I would.

Lindsay Lohan might soon be making a move to "The Canyons." According to the film's screenwriter, Bret Easton Ellis, she has just nabbed the leading role in the flick, set to shoot this summer. This is expected to be a grittier take on young people and their struggles in Hollywood. Indiewire reports that Deen's Christian is a "trust fund kid, power player and major manipulator, who is a film producer that enjoys filming his own three-way sex sessions." Meanwhile, Lohan's ex-model character, Tara, is his girlfriend who "has sold her pride for the material comforts Christian can provide." Three other roles remain uncast: bartender and wannabe actor Ryan, Ryan's employee and fellow actor Gina, and former actress/yoga instructor Lindsay, who is carrying on an affair with Christian. A Malawi court has scheduled a hearing for Monday to take up the Material Mama's petition to add an orphaned girl to the brood.
The hearing was announced a day after officials in the African nation confirmed the 50-year-old entertainer was seeking a second adoption.
Also on Friday, the identity of the 4-year-old girl was confirmed.
"Her name is Mercy James from Mchinji Home of Hope orphanage. She has no father and mother—they both died. We finished the assessment yesterday in readiness for the courts next week," a spokesman for the Ministry of Gender and Child Development told Reuters.

If all goes according to plan, Mercy will join 12-year-old Lourdes (Madonna's daughter with former flame Carlos Leon), 9-year-old Rocco (her biological son with Guy Ritchie) and 3-year-old David Banda, whom she and her filmmaker ex-hubby adopted two-and-a-half years ago after traveling to Malawi to help build an orphanage there.
Mercy hails from the same orphanage.
The "Causing a Commotion" singer is expected to arrive in Malawi with David sometime over the weekend and will reportedly take the boy to meet his biological father, Yohane Banda, while they're visiting.

Her publicist has declined to comment on the latest adoption news, but Madonna is hoping to avoid the controversy that erupted last time around, when various child advocacy groups accused her of using her superstar status to evade the nation's adoption laws.
Now a newly minted single mom with an extremely busy touring schedule, the "Sticky and Sweet" purveyor will be required to justify her filing before the court.
In an interview with Malawi's Nation newspaper earlier this month, Madonna was quoted as saying she'd only go through with it if she had the "support of the Malawian people and government.

Th famous rap singer T.I sentenced to an year and one day....

As expected, T.I. was sentenced today to one year and one day in Georgia prison as part of his plea deal with prosecutors over a 2007 felony weapons charge.
"Today I would like to say thank-you to some, and apologize to all," the rapper said.
"Everything I learned was through trial and error. I've learned lessons in my life to put in my music so people won't make the same mistakes as I."
The 28-year-old rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., is required to voluntarily turn himself into prison within the next 30 to 60 days, but is not expected do so before May 19.
Northern Georgia District Judge Charles Pannell Jr., who praised the artist for exceeding the expectations required from his plea deal, acknowledged that T.I. had commitments that prevented him from being jailed before the May date.

It's unclear where he will serve his time, though court officials acknowledged that he would be receiving credit for the 305 days he already spent in home detention.

"I think this has been a great experiment," Pannell told the rapper of his plea deal. "I hope this experience can lead to other experiments so others won't make the same mistake at all. I congratulate you."
The Grammy-winning hip-hop star, who donned a charcoal-grey suit and was accompanied by his family, manager and longtime partner Tameka "Tiny" Cottle at the morning hearing, brokered a deal last March.
The Paper Trail performer pleaded guilty to a federal weapons charge and agreed to complete 1,000 hours of community service prior to his sentencing, pay a $100,000 fine and complete an additional 500 hours of community service after getting sprung. His jail time will be followed by an additional three years of supervised release.
He originally faced up to 10 years behind bars.
The reformed rapper has made 262 public appearances as part of his community service agreement in addition to taking part in a pro-voting campaign, working with children and appearing in the MTV reality show Road to Redemption. So far, he has completed 1,030 of the 1,500 total community service hours required.

As part of the deal, the rapper also agreed to forfeit all of the firearms and ammunition involved in the incident and waive his right to an appeal.
"We are very pleased with the result in this case," U.S. Attorney David E. Nahmias said. "For the past year, Mr. Harris has used his high public visibility, his exceptional communication skills and his real-world life experience to deliver the right message to literally thousands of kids."
It's an impact Nahmias said more than made up for the deal he brokered for less time behind bars.
"His prison sentence was reduced from what it might have been, but the public got something very significant in exchange: the extensive and unique community service program that Mr. Harris committed to doing when he pleaded guilty.
"By all accounts, his community service has been a remarkable success—it certainly exceeded our expectations—and there is still more to come when he gets out of prison."
T.I. was arrested on Oct. 13, 2007, just hours before he was scheduled to headline the BET Hip-Hop Awards after cops busted him attempting to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers.
As for his sentence, being as it is (just) more than one year long, he will be eligible for early release, should his good behavior warrant it. Had his sentence been one year or less, he would have been required to serve the duration of the time behind bars.

Golden Globes promise glamour and pizazz Sunday

The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards" would be sure to tower over last year's telecast, even without trying. And executive producer Barry Adelman is trying.

"Last year was not a happy time to go through," Adelman said earlier this week. "But we're putting that behind us."

A year ago, of course, the famously rollicking ceremony was caught up in the strike by Hollywood writers, who vowed to picket if it aired.

The plug was pulled on Adelman's extravaganza just days before the big night. What NBC aired instead was an hourlong laundry list of winners, read aloud by the co-hosts of "Access Hollywood."

No stars! No glitz! No service to fans of the annual Globes gala. No wonder just 5.8 million of them watched the bare-bones substitute, less than one-third its audience in 2007.

That was then. The Globes will be revived for viewers Sunday at 8 p.m. EST, with NBC airing the festivities live from the celebrity-packed ballroom of the Beverly Hilton hote.
"We're making this year bigger and better than ever," said Adelman, who promised a measure of glamour in the show's design "that should remind everyone in the room why they got into this business in the first place."

He noted that Meryl Streep will contribute to the night's suspense. She's up for two awards: in the musical or comedy actress category for "Mamma Mia!" and dramatic actress for "Proof."

Among Streep's rivals in the latter category is Kate Winslet ("Revolutionary Road"), who is also nominated in the supporting-actress category for "The Reader."

From the TV world, Tina Fey should loom large. Several months after scoring Emmys for her comedy creation, "30 Rock," as well as for best actress in a comedy, Fey and her series could take home Golden Globes in those categories.

Steven Spielberg will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award for his outstanding contribution to the entertainment field, "and we're going to have a lot of people in the room who have worked with him, which will make the night very special," Adelman said.

"Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will be there. Tom Cruise will be there. It's really an embarrassment of riches!"

Scheduled presenters include the Jonas Brothers, Hayden Panettiere, Martin Scorsese, Simon Baker, Drew Barrymore, Sacha Baron Cohen, Salma Hayek, Jessica Lange, Jennifer Lopez, Amy Poehler and Seth Rogen, as well as Ricky Gervais, who provided one of the few bright moments during last September's dreary Emmycast.

And, virtually guaranteeing things don't get dreary or parched, an open bar for the guests is part of the formula.

Presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the Globes are unusual for awarding achievements in both film and television. They also differ from the more formal Oscar and Emmy ceremonies. Rather than originate from an auditorium, the Globes have a dinner-party setting where the guests feel no pain.

Golden Globes moments include Jack Nicholson waving his rear at the audience after winning for "As Good as It Gets" and "30 Rock" winner Alec Baldwin professing loose-lipped gratitude that his Golden Globe trophy "isn't too heavy because I just had hernia surgery."

At its best, the Globes telecast isn't as much like an awards show staged for viewers as it is a posh Hollywood affair on which viewers get to eavesdrop.

"One of my rules has been to let the party happen," Adelman said. "We don't impose a lot of elements that get in the way of what viewers are there for" — to see the stars, to see who wins, to hear what the winners have to say.

And maybe join them in raising a glass.

World has a stake in upcoming US election

U2 frontman and activist Bono said Wednesday that next week's presidential election provides a great opportunity to "relaunch Brand USA" amid worldwide scrutiny.
"The whole world has a stake in how things turn out," the Ireland native told thousands of Starbucks Corp. employees in New Orleans for a leadership conference. The coffee company and Bono's (RED) label, which helps raise money for the Global Fund that pays for AIDS programs in Africa, also announced a partnership Wednesday.
The singer talked about brands and what they stand for. In Starbucks' case, he said some might see it as a place to hang out and get coffee — but that brand can also signify social responsibility.
The way the U.S. is perceived — "Brand USA" — also means something, he said. And it's never been so closely watched, said Bono, who didn't endorse either candidate for president.
Regardless of who wins, "it's a great chance to relaunch Brand USA," he said.
Bono has been a leading advocate for Africa, drawing attention to issues ranging from poverty and hunger to AIDS.
(RED) aims to partner with private companies to sell products such as coffee drinks, with some proceeds going to the Global Fund. More than $112 million has been raised in the two years since (RED) launched. (RED) helps pay for medication and other services for people in Africa suffering from AIDS and HIV, according to its Web site.

Actress Yeoh campaigns for crash helmet use in Vietnam

Hollywood star Michelle Yeoh joined more than 1,000 Vietnamese children Thursday on a city march to promote motorcycle crash helmets and reduce traffic deaths on the country's chaotic roads.
Vietnam's communist government has enforced helmet use for adults for almost one year in the motorcycle-choked nation but the law has not been extended to children and youths riding as passengers.
Yeoh -- who acted in the Bond film "Tomorrow Never Dies" and the martial arts saga "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" -- joined the march through Ho Chi Minh City organised by the Asia Injury Prevention (AIP) Foundation.
"Since last year when the law was enacted, overnight 80-90 percent of riders started wearing helmets," she told AFP. "But the kids are wearing baseball caps instead ... The parents need to protect the children.
"Unfortunately, many parents reject helmets for their kids out of a mistaken perception that helmets are unsafe for children."
The march through Vietnam's busiest city was part of a global campaign aiming to cut the world's annual road death toll of 1.3 million people.
"Today, tomorrow and every day, we will see at least 2,000 young children killed or seriously injured on the world's roads," Malaysian-born Yeoh said.
"This is unacceptable, preventable and we have to stop it. We have the vaccines for this disease: helmets, seatbelts, speed enforcement, safe road design. We just need to use them."
At least 12,000 people die on Vietnam's roads every year. The road death rate of 27 fatalities per 100,000 people compares to about 10 per 100,000 in Western Europe, said the AIP Foundation

Leona's secret album is launched

A small London-based record label is planning to release an album that Leona Lewis recorded before winning the third series of The X Factor in 2006.
UEG Music claim they spent around £70,000 trying to launch the 23-year-old, who is now signed to Sony BMG.
They have already released the album, called Best Kept Secret, in Japan and plan a UK release in January.
But Lewis's lawyers insist UEG does not have her consent or the rights to start selling the record.
UEG's Barry Bee has told Newsbeat his company had approached Lewis's new label after she won the TV talent contest.
He said: "We went to her and said, 'Look, we've got the album here, do you want to buy the rights?', and they refused.
"We had costs that we incurred and we needed to recoup them.
"So, as per the arrangements we have with all our artists, we put them out and they get a 50% share of any profits."
Demo recordings
In an interview with Newsbeat in 2007, Lewis acknowledged the album's existence but seemed sure it would never see the light of day.
She said: "Like lots of people who want to be singers, I used to record stuff and put it down.
"But for me, it's just songs that I did to get experience in the studio and not songs I would release in that form. "Obviously, they won't be released because it's not in their rights to do so because I never signed anything to say that they could be released."
The album even features a track called Private Party that became an underground hit on the urban music scene in 2005.
But Best Kept Secret isn't the only material Lewis recorded before she found fame.
She recorded another album, called Twilight, which was never released commercially - although she did perform some live tracks with Radio 1's Colin Murray in 2004.
UEG plan to release Best Kept Secret in the UK in January but rolled it out in Japan this July, where it sold more than 10,000 copies in its first week.
In a statement, Lewis's lawyers said: "This album is a rework of demo recordings that Leona did before she entered the X Factor.
"As far as we are concerned, UEG do not have either the right for these recordings to be released or Leona's consent for such a release.
"We are in the process of taking the appropriate action in relation to this.
But UEG's Barry Bee insisted the label was in control of the recordings.
He said: "We do have the rights. We had stuff out in 2004-2005.
"All we seek is acknowledgement and to let people hear what she did. It's good stuff."

"So much has gone on over the last couple of years and there's a lot that people don't know about me that I want them to know," Spears told MTV News in a statement about the special. "I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn't being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in. This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I've been through and where I'm headed."
The documentary combines personal stories with behind-the-scenes footage of her comeback. Cameras follow her to the recording studio, to rehearsals, to press tours, to the video shoot for her latest single, "WOMANIZER"and even to her hometown in Louisiana. Backstage footage from her Recent triunphant apperance at the Video music awards is also featured.
Through it all, we hear Britney talking about the hardships that led up to this comeback. "I've been through a lot, and there's a lot people don't know," she says in the film. "Sometimes it can get lonely 'cause you don't open the gate. I'm stuck in this place, and I just cope every day."
Britney also owns up to the mistakes the world has watched her make, and offers some telling insight into how she feels about it all now. "I sit there and I look back," she says, before asking rhetorically: "I'm a smart person, what the hell was I thinking?"
